I have a rug that ends a couple inches under the couch and a few inches before the TV stand. Really depends on how much room you have to work with. I'd say it would be better to have the rug not under the TV stand. I think it looks good when there's a couple inches or so between the rug and the stand. chargingblue • 5 yr. ago.
To choose a rug for a sectional sofa, consider the size and shape of the sofa, the size and layout of the room, and the style and color scheme you want to achieve. Choose a rug that is large enough to fit under the entire sectional, with at least 8-12 inches of rug visible on all sides.
When it comes to bedroom area rug placement, a queen-size bed pairs nicely with an 8-by-10 rug, while a 9-by-12 rug is the proper size for a king. When determining rug placement under the bed, your rug should be centered with the wood floor exposed near the headboard to leave space for nightstands.
The rug should be large enough to frame the sectional within the space, accommodating the length and width of the couch and the area around it. Ideally, the lowest level of the frame should be between 8-12 inches of the couch.
You all liked my master bath, hopefully you like this earlier half bath as well. 1 / 4. Completed bathroom. 1.1K. 78. r/InteriorDesign. Join. • 6 days ago. Just started my whole wall wainscoting grid (the wall is large, 17’ tall by 27’ wide).
Remember to account for any extendable leaves and keep 18 inches of floor space between the rug and wall. For oval and rectangular tables a 5x7 rug is best for seating 2-4 people. To seat 6-8, an 8x10 or 9x13 rug is recommended. Square and round tables seating 4-6 pair perfectly with a 7 or 9-foot round rug.

In the interior design world, a “seating group” is just what it sounds like- a group of seating furniture generally found in a living room or TV room. This group could include a sofa and two chairs, two sofas, a sectional and a chair, 4 armchairs, a sofa and loveseat, etc. The two sofas in the living room floorplan below form a seating group. Rugs should be at least 4" away from all walls to avoid looking cramped; Rug Size: Sofa (83"-89"W x 38"D) 8' x 10' (96" x 144") 9' x 12' (108" x 144") 2FtxWU.
