Make sure you have your resolution cranked up in the Oculus PC App. Devices -> Quest 2 -> resolution to 1.5x. Set steam super sampling to 100% when doing this as it it is unnecessary to go any higher than 1.5x in the Oculus app. Steam SS would apply on top of that and kill your performance for no benefit.
I'm using the Oculus Rift S, and I can't figure out how to open VATS. I'm still in vault 111, trying to kill the rad roaches. Shooting them seems almost impossible without help with aiming. I suppose I could just beat them to death, but I still want to know how to activate VATS. lol :)
Can comfirm that yes, OpenComposite will probably fix the majority of issues with Fallout 4 VR. Even before adding in optimization mods, simply using it, cutting out the majority of SteamVR bs, seems to correct the bulk of issues. Crashes are still around and general bugginess associated with Bestesda games, but at least you'll be able to play.
Permissions and credits. In most VR games "Grip" buttons are used to interact, grab and hold objects, but not in Fallout 4 VR, FO4VR uses "A" button instead. Grip buttons feel more immersive so many players swaps functionality of "A" and "Grip" buttons on right controller in Steam Input, this unfortunately makes button labels in game to beWorking great for me! Iāve played Half-Life: Alyx twice through so far. One of the best video games Iāve ever played!! I played it on low settings and only noticed frame drops in a few outdoor areas, stayed a solid 80 fps for most of it! (The Rift S is an 80hz display). Oculus stopped giving me the warning that my pc isnāt up to spec aCnDV.
