God of war 3 is worth playing, but 1 and 2 aged bad in my opinion. The graphics to start which obviously theyre gonna be bad compared to today since theyre a ps2 game. The mechanics are pretty rough too, a lot of tedious gameplay like balancing and platform jumping. And the camera angles are so awkward they switch up on you all the time. Keep in mind you could probably buy all the God of War games available for PS3 for less than the price of this remaster. Also keep in mind you can get all 3 Uncharted + the online co-op things for way less. I can only justify getting TLOUR remastered for PS4 because it goes for ridiculously cheap.
The God of War Collection is currently one of Gamestop's "Two for $10" deal, along with God of War 3 and a bunch of other great, though slightly old, games. Seems like a much better deal. I'd say yes. It's about $40 for 5 games, 4 of which you've never played.
yeah, sadly the minority of God of war fans have actually played the original games. I see most people in this sub say that it isn't worth playing the originals, and that you can just skip straight to gow 4 but it would be a dream come true for me to get the originals in modern graphics
If you want to play ascension and god of war 3, both the games and console are cheap and widely available. Although you can pretty easily emulate the ps2 and psp games on pc and even android phones if you're not really interested enough in other games on the ps3 to justify getting another console, however I'd definitely say there are more than enough exclusives to get a ps3.
