Only issues I have had on my x5 which has over 70,000 miles is a sensor going bad but that was a couple hundred dollar fix. That is over a 6 year period with only one thing going wrong. My x3 is still under 10k miles and under warranty so no worries there. . Also I think BMW's usually get a bad rap because people will buy abused ones with 200k
I’ve been thinking of trading my 3 series BMW for an X3 and could use some advice about the differences between the first and second generation versions. My tendency is to buy used cars, I suppose because I’m practical and overly cheap so I’ve been thinking of a late first generation 2010 or early second generation 2011 or 2012.
